I am so excited to share this idea with you! We have a 20+ hour plane flight coming up, so a few weeks ago I started thinking about something that would be “new” and keep Little M occupied for part of the trip. Hopefully he will sleep most of it. But we all know how that goes. I had been toying with this idea for a while anyway, so this was the perfect excuse to go ahead and make it…A Spanish Alphabet book!
Mi Alfabeto Español!
Each page features different colors and textures and each word on the page starts with the corresponding letter of the Spanish Alphabet. I know I probably could have made a more elaborate book, but I am working with limited supplies here in Korea. Plus it took me long enough as it is!
Apparently the CH, RR, Ñ, RR, and are somewhat debated to be included in the official Spanish Alphabet. According to what my very brief researched showed, the CH and LL, and Ñ are now official letters while the RR is no long considered its own letter. But I included it anyway…because it’s so fun! Although the words I included for RR do not start with that letter. 
I was especially proud of the “Zeta” página 🙂 The carrot comes out of the Ziploc bag!
I realize that this book may not make it back from our trip. It may not even make it to our destination! But if it entertains him while on the plane, then it will have served it’s purpose! And hey, that’s what pictures are for, right??

Fantastic! I will love to hear what your creative juices come up with! It took me a few hours. It would have been faster if I had a paper cutter, etc. Most of the time was in the planning/cutting stages 🙂
Have been giving a lot of thought to what I am going to put in out Alphabet book since you did this post…. Am struggling to decide whether to try and teach both alphabets simultaneously or one after the other….. would love to know what influenced your decision?
Hi Bonne! Funny you should ask. I didn’t even give a thought to trying to include both…but now I’m wondering why! 🙂 I think it stems from a few things: first, there are plenty of alphabet books available for English so I wont have trouble laying my hands on something to teach the English, but honestly I’m not sure when I will actively teach English reading/writing….something i have just started to think about a little this week since I’ve read some things on it lately (among the great things I’ve been reading… “Be Bilingual” by Annika Bourgogne…) Also may have something to do with the fact that there are some letters in the Spanish alphabet that aren’t in the English so it might be clunky to try to incorporate both. So glad you are enjoying the project!

I love this! I was just thinking about doing the same, as I bought one online that has drawings that I don’t like. I want photos and objects, like in yours. So great! Any tips for making it last? I think I will laminate.
Laminating would be a great idea Jennifer! My son has loved his book…so much so that it is pretty ratty now. But I knew this was a possibility and I was just happy it survived our trip 🙂
